Where to start? There is a horrible disconnect here. I could say that this is like attacking a forest fire with a squirt gun. Or, I could say that this is so pathetically elitist that it really doesn’t matter. At best, it is a dangerous diversion from the real mission — TRADE REFORM. To the extent that this gives false hope to even a handful of people, it is damaging to our cause.
We must convince a majority of the American people that our plight is HOPELESS without TRADE REFORM. China is on a track to own us, and there is no way to put a positive spin on that.
While I admire these tiny companies for finding a niche below China’s radar, their stories give our half-wit, incompetent, corrupt politicians excuses to delay taking action on TRADE REFORM.
Bruce, no one argues that we don’t need fundamental trade reform in the broadest sense. Our trade, tax, environmental, energy and infrastructure policies have worked together to create the sorry state in which America finds itself. By the same token, real trade reform begins at home. Every American consumer can help to change the course of our economy simply by wise decisions at the check-out counter. We don’t need to win political power to accomplish this much. In fact, consumers can lead and give courage to politicians if they start practicing what they preach. The CPA on-line store is just one way to show folks how much of a choice they really have.
