Is John McCain really a free trader? PDF Print E-mail

Sen. John McCain claims to be a free trader.  Genuine free trade is the result of laws that protect private property from illegal taking.  Current U.S. trade policy is based on ignoring those laws.  This allows foreign producers to dump artificially cheap imports in America.

Americans no longer produce enough tradable goods to support our level of consumption.  So our government encourages us to borrow so we can continue to consume foreign goods and prop up the world economy.  Wall Street violates important business laws so we can rack up more unsustainable debt.

Predictably, these prohibited trade and business practices are resulting in the illegal taking of the wealth of more and more Americans.  This is trade anarchy, not free trade.  If Mr. McCain.. or anyone else.. wants to be a genuine free trader, he should join those of us who promote the effective enforcement of the rules of free trade.  We are the genuine free traders.

Or you can do something.  Like I do.  Help the Coalition for a Prosperous America spread the word.
