Bad Tomatoes. What about the imports? PDF Print E-mail

The E.Coli (Saintpaul strain) tomato contamination is bad.  The WaPo editorial board and others are calling for more food safety powers for regulators.  That's fine.  We need to keep improving, as we have over 100 years.

Will they also argue for equal regulatory and inspection power as to imported food?  Will they argue against trade deals that hamper imposing the same multi-dimensional oversight on those imports?

Of course not.  That would be protectionist.
