Mattel is recalling NINE MILLION toys
after findings by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. This is
Mattel's second recall in two weeks, the first included 967,000 toys.
It
seems Barbie, Batman, Polly Pockets and other toys have lead paint,
courtesy of China manufacturers produced at the China Price. It is not
a good idea for toddlers to put these toys in their mouths.
Consider the size of this recall. 967,000 is the entire foreign born population of New Jersey in 1990. Add the current population of New York City and you approximate the number of toys recalled.
