The former head of China's Food & Drug Administration was executed, earlier this year.  He was incredibly productive, approving 150,000 drugs last year.  An average of 7,500 new drug approvals each day assuming a 200 day work year.  The U.S. FDA approved 140 drugs last year.  His official crime was receiving bribes from the regulated.  Of course the real crime was causing international publicity and embarassment to China.

A new trade related death has occurred.  The head of a Chinese company that manufactured the one million lead paint toys for Mattel is dead.  He committed suicide, China's state-controlled media said.  No word on whether the suicied was "assisted."
