When other countries practice unfair trade to strategically suck food and goods production out of the U.S., you have unemployment and lose wealth creation.

When you have unemployment, you have economic and social costs.  Of the social costs:

Almost half [the unemployed] have suffered from depression or anxiety. About 4 in 10 parents have noticed behavioral changes in their children that they attribute to their difficulties in finding work.

How couldn't things get bad with these protectionist agreements called free trade in place. We have a tax system that gives tax breaks to outsource, high corporate income taxes to produce in US and allows foreign products from Protectionist countries to come in for free which taxpayer money is used to secure these imports coming into US ports. Why should Americans pay high taxes to make a living in the US when foreign products from Protectionist countries come in for free? Besides that we have Protectionist agreements against America called free trade where the US allows free access while other countries tax US exports. Additionally these foreign countries employ various protectionist measures like keeping their exchange rate pegged by creating money faster then the US, giving tax payer money to their exporters and foreign central banks giving exporters newly printed money out of thin air. These protectionist policies hurt the US but only help a few US multinational corporations that outsource overseas.
