Rahm kills Colombia FTA talk |

I wrote before of my worry, based upon news reports, that the next stimulus package would include the Colombia FTA to get the Bush Administration to support it. Rahm Emanuel, chief-of-staff-in-waiting, tried to quash that possibility yesterday during Sunday morning talking heads TV shows.
Mr. Emanuel said an economic stimulus package in Congress should not be linked to a free-trade agreement with Colombia, as some Republicans have sought to do. Democrats have resisted those efforts, saying it does not provide enough labor protection.
