WASHINGTON, DC – In light of the ongoing financial crisis, national, state, and local leaders representing more than 30 business, labor and agriculture organizations will be holding a press conference to:
 
1.      Announce the formation of a new non-partisan ad hoc group called the Coalition to Fix America's Economy;

2.      Unveil a policy platform to help fix America's economy and ensure good jobs, prosperity and national security; and

3.      Discuss plans to encourage all candidates for President and Congress to support the policy planks contained in the platform.

Thank you for your efforts. I hope that you include info to build a country wide grass roots effort. I would love to see all products labeled with country of origin and environmental impact score.Please keep us informed.

I am listening to a replay of your press conference. I live in a small rural town in North Alabama. We have lost two of our main employers to outsourcing. Our agriculture is almost totally disappearing due to the inability to break even with our products because they could be bought outside the US at a much lower price. My family did farm. Now there is no way we can do this anymore. Luckily we have good educations and the abilty to do other things.

I see these "free trade" agreements free to everyone accept the US. In every area of our economy, we have given away our lunch. We have literally sold ourselves down the river.

Thank you for taking up this problem and being brave enought to state the truth and not what everyone wants to hear. Our country is grave danger. Selfish greed has all but given our country away.

The transfer of trade has an impact on every element of our society. There are no jobs that are not in danger because of a decrease in our industry, financial system, and ethics. We must regain this or totally loose our way of life.

Everyone like to blame President Bush. He does not have sole power in Washington. There are vast Senators and Congressional Representatives in Washington who have begun to believe their publicity. They are there for fame and fortune not for the best for our country and its citizens. Democrats and Republicans can be proud of destroying our nation.

If this is not stopped, our entire way of life and freedom is doomed. We are fast moving to a socialist government. Gentleman, that is not good for our country. Keep up the good work. Help bring this nation back to its original intent.

While watching C-Span and Congress give away the taxpayers money, we were fortunate to see your press conference. We are delighted to finally see some united action to change the outsourcing of jobs, and hopefully produce American and Union made products that we Americans can buy, and keep our money in our Country. Personally, we make a big effort to buy American, including the food that we eat. However, often we postpone purchasing items, when possible, if it isn't USA produced, and tell the store that we want American made products. We want to learn more about your movement. Thank you.

Hallelujah!

We need to get out of all those fraudlent 'free trade' agreements and rebuild the American economy on an industrial base. Those agreements were never about trade - they were political agreements to integrate economies in a global system of planned economies managed by the international comintern.

Carla Hills acknowledged as much in a historic congressional hearing titled, "The Future of Free Trade". Four past USTR Representatives ('free traitors') testified. If you don't have that video, you should get it. It is available through C-Span.

One of the problems with the American economy is that we quit making products and began attempting to make money by trading money rather than goods. The international trade agreements and businesses outsourcing everything is bleeding all the money out of our country.

It's about time we all got together. This will be an irresistable force. I assume the one problem that unites us all is the outsourcing of American industrial activity, 4 million jobs and 40,000 companies later. Industrial Manufacturing is the source of wealth; all else is distribution.
