The political leadership, Bush, McCain, Pelosi, Bohner, Reid, and Obama all wanted the bailout approved.  McCain even told an Ohio crowd yesterday morning that he was instrumental in putting the coalition together to agree upon the plan. 

Constituent email was coming in furiously against the plan.   Then the vote failed.  205-228.

The New York Times has a great map to show who voted no.  All red and blue districts voted no.  Red is Republican.  Blue is Democrat.  (How did they get those colors anyway?  Why not the other way around... red for Democrat... never mind.)
