California - Obama leads big.  58-30%

Nebraska - McCain leads big.  50-39%

NE-Sen:  Mike Johanns (R), the former USDA secretary, leads Scott Kleeb (D) in a big way, in the race to succeed retiring Senator Chuck Hagel (R).  59-33%

Sovereign wealth funds are reshaping ownership of commerce in the world.  The opposite of privatization.  Foreign governments have huge slush funds, overwhelming hedge funds.  China does it with a multi-faceted policy of generating huge exports with currency manipulation, taxes and vast subsidies to its industry.  The Middle East does it with oil.

The U.S. trade policy funds our geopolitical rival... China.  U.S. energy dependency funds our other geopolitical rivals - the oil dictators.  Our Founding Fathers would be pleased.

So he wrote in the Detroit Free Press last week

What is needed is the cooperative work of partners to reduce the burden of complying with NAFTA's rules of origin and to reduce border delays so they do not become impediments to trade or the equivalent of a tariff. Perhaps most of all, those who would lead our countries must work to ensure that the benefits of NAFTA are understood throughout our countries, and not jeopardized through "cowboy diplomacy."

The burdens of rules of origin.  So we can ship Chinese products through Mexico as if they were Mexican, and thus NAFTA-origin, products?  So we can get rid of U.S. country of origin labeling rules for meat and vegetables?  Great idea.  The rules of origin facilitate identity fraud now.

South Korea's president Lee Myung-bak is not apologetic anymore.  Protests occurred. His approval rating plummeted and a part of his cabinet offered to resign (but did not).  His government was paralyzed.  Over U.S. beef and the S. Korea Free Trade Agreement.

New Mexico:  Rasmussen has Obama up by 8.  47-39% 

Pennsylvania:  Obama leads McCain 46-42%.

Utah:  McCain leads 52-33%.  Not a swing state.

Utah-Sen:  Competing to fill retiring incumbent Pete Domenici's (R) seat, Tom Udall (D) leads Steve Pearce (R) 58-30%.
