"Protective" efforts are just about the only current way to regulate international trade. Compare that with the thousands of rules, regulations, agencies, laws, customs, taxes, that affect production, labor, currency value, transportation, and every other aspect of internal trade within every modern industrial country and society. And these over-riding controls are different in each country. How can anyone expect that international trade betwen these competing and independent entities can be conducted in a rational manner without ANY regulations whatsoever - called FREE TRADE by those who see a profit in it. - MILTON HEFT
