I am the Chairman of the Board of Revere Copper Products, the oldest manufacturing company in the United States, founded by Paul Revere in 1801. We make copper sheet, strip and coil and sell to other manufacturers.
We at Revere believe it is important to serve our country as well as our company. This is our corporate mission statement:
“Our mission is to be the best in the world at what we do and have fun doing it. This means using to the fullest extent the talents of all Revere people working as a team in a safe, environmentally sound and ethical manner to achieve absolute customer satisfaction through superior quality and reliability. Our future will consider equally our employees and our shareholders, our customers and our country.”
As the Chief Co-Chair of the Coalition for a Prosperous America, I am proud to work with farmers, ranchers, manufacturers and labor to serve our country. We are gaining strength every year, having held more meetings and reached more people in 2012 than in any prior year.
I have personally educated Congressional candidates on the need for trade reform. CPA equips our members to influence their local political leaders throughout the year. We have developed specific solutions that make sense and are effective.
As the Lame Duck Session of Congress unfolds, our staff and members are working diligently to shift the debate to fixing U.S. trade policy in 2013. I know we will be even more effective next year. And I appreciate your support for the cause.
I want Revere to be successful. More than that, I want American companies, agricultural producers and workers to be successful. That’s why I’m a member of CPA. We simply cannot wait for someone else to do this important work.
It’s up to us.
On behalf of the Coalition for a Prosperous America, Happy Holidays.
Brian O’Shaughnessy, Chairman
